June 5 Rain, Bear, Camstore

Camped on a fire road last night and had a peaceful evening. With all the excitement last night, we forgot to refill our water supply. We could not cook last night because it was too late and we wanted to hang our food bag out of reach of bears before dark

As we walked this morning it started to rain and then pour We had mom send a tarp that we are now using to sit under when it rains. Our first attempt went well. We even captured water off the tarp to drink and cook. We had Mountain House Chili Mac as the rain came down. It was a perfect break.

This afternoon we saw a bear very close...20 yards. It kept it's eye on us and we just watched it. Mark took a picture. EZ growled at the bear i I thought he might be taking this mountain man business a little too seriously. The bear started coming down closer to us as if it wasnt bothered a bit. I had enough. We hiked on.
