June 11Fountains of Life (Lois Sanders)

One of the things John Muir says about the mountains is that here you will find "fountains of life".

Today we saw a bear in front of our car. We pulled up a few feet from him as he was tearing into a log for grubs. We could see how powerful he was.

Julie had unzipped the bottom part of her hiking pants off and left them on the side of the road two days ago. We drove by and found them, she was thrilled to get them back

We went canoeing down the Shenandoah River. The scenes were breath taking. The small mouth bass fishing for Mark was fantastic. Thanks to Brenton for sending the right gear Looking down into the water we could see these huge rock formations. We made it through the class one and two rapids without mishap. Rosanna was a great teammate. The last three miles on the river we had rain. What a special treat this is experiencing this with Julie, Mark and Rosanna. God has provided us with fountains of life today. God is good!

We are sitting in a tavern listening to a gentleman playing the dulcimer. He enjoys folk music and Appalachian music. His son plays the oboe and goes to the University of Michigan. Wonderful sound.
