We have spent two nights in New York City. I don't think we could have more of a contrast to our wilderness adventure than the city that never sleeps. We were both surprised at how much we enjoyed it here. I found New Yorkers to be friendly and helpful. As we got on the Metro North to head into the city, we met Vanessa. She is a lawyer who works a few days a week in the city. She gave us helpful pointers, took us right into Grand Central Station and walked us almost to the door of our hotel. She gave us her contact information in case we needed anything. What a good start to our visit here.
We found a laundromat while we waited for our hotel. When we did get checked in we enjoyed resting until we heard from Jane and Susan Logozzo. Susan lives in NYC in an adorable apt that we could walk to. She is a teacher at an upscale school in New York She took us to a Thai restaurant after explaining we could have ANY kind of food we could want. Then at 10:30 PM we went to 16 handles...make your own yogurt sundae. There was quite a line. Susan looked the same and loves the city. Thank you, Susan!
I had a special surprise meeting with Renee Flores. She also loves the city and is getting married in two months in the Hampton's. He is one lucky man. He leads worship at their church and on top of her successful career in finance, she is a youth leader at their church. Loved our short time together.
The next day we were surprised to hear Dave also made the trip from Boston to join us for the day. The four of us did some catching up, went on a boat tour of Manhattan, walked around the Rockefeller Center, famous St Patricks Cathedral, had dinner and had to say goodbye. We were off to Yankee Stadium on the subway. Quite a game against LA. We mailed home our free Yankee caps for a souvenir (sorry Sean). Dave and Jane gave us all the details to look for which made the game even better. Lucky to have such terrific friends!!!

Julie, Enjoy reading as always of all your adventures! You both look GREAT! Had a dream with you in it, Lots of BEARS, and The Greg Billings Band...it was w e i r d to say the least.lol Listen, you know how I am about ticks and lyme disease! This isn't something to mess with or to wait and see. You both should take Doxy for 4 weeks minimum. The rule is, if you think you have a chance of getting it, you should error on the side of taking it and for 2-4 weeks the longer the better. This stuff is nasty. The longer you have it, the harder it is to get rid of...and very possible to never get rid of. Every one is different. I know personally of someone that was in a wheelchair withing 48 hours of a bite and in a nursing home withing months! OK, off my soap box:) Love you and glad your having an awesome time! Dana
