July 16

Breakfast with Joe this morning was delicious-egg sandwich, hot dog a coffee for me and Ice tea for Gravity.
Heidi joined us-she was headed up to Maine in her car to kayak and climb Katadin-tempting to hitch a ride.
It rained like the dickens last night which made for a damp night but all things considered not to bad.
The hike today was a good one-17 miles and didn't hit the trail till 9 am a late start for sure. Had a .4 mile detour to a deli-getting tough to pass up but will not be so available once we get to Vermont which will be a good thing. Came across a large oak today suppose to see the largest of AT tomorrow. Stopped at a shelter around 11:30 today where they had large hiker feed last night-we did not make due to storm but did get Joe's famous egg sandwich and hot dog which sounds really good right now. We were able to enjoy some left over drinks.
Hoping to get a good start tomorrow and may try to make CT but will be tough with 22 miles needed.
Weather was warm today and expect the same for next few days.
Feeling like a snack but all our food is in a bear bag up in a tree-oh well guess I'll wait until morning.
By the way-Gravity had another fall today-see photo. Bruised her hand but is okay otherwise.
