We are into New Jersey 7 miles and a great hike today. Saw a turtle laying eggs a tree full of turkey vultures, and a deer Came to a glacier lake called Fish Pond. No swimming aloud but gorgeous. Now we are walking a ridge line and stopped on the top of Kittetany Mountain. River to one side and a couple of lakes on the other. We are going to the Mohican Outdoor Center to spend 3-4 hours swimming at the beach then we will hike another 6-8 miles to finish the day. I am so excited about the lakes. I LOVE the water. The rocks are still here but the intensity is up and down with moments of smooth. We can manage it. Our feet feel better just from taking a break. It's only 10 AM so looking forward to the day
7pm. It was a happy day. At a campsite where we can time another beach day at lunch time tomorrow. We have 879.9 miles to go. We are already in our tent and will be asleep before dark.
Looking forward to a day in New York City. If the timing is right, Jane Logozzo will be our tour guide. We should finish New Jersey and be in New York in four days. In the meantime, we love New Jersey!
