August 21.

It's morning and we will be back on the trail in an hour. We enjoyed this down time with Karen and Michelle. The slack pack even felt like down time to us. It has been relaxing and energizing..

Last night we met two families at an ice cream store. We talked and laughed for a time. We met a gentleman with a large dog. The dog was exhausted from the days hike. They had questions about our journey and we enjoyed sharing. As others get excited about what we are doing, it is good for us. It keeps is mindful of how blessed we are to have this opportunity to experience our dream. We also learned about fluffnutter. This is a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich. I am going to have to try this one!

When we hiked Mt Moosilauke, we were able to find a trail name for Michelle, Grace. It came up because we were hiking down a steep, rocky section. She decided to take a picture, lost her footing and fell. It looked more like a slow motion roll as she giggled all the way through. She finished rolling down a couple rocks into a sitting position with a big smile on her face. Graceful as can be. Grace fits Michelle's person as well because she is a gracious soul.
Now it is time to go about six days into the wilderness. I don't know if we will have any phone service so we may not have a chance to post a blog. We have tried to make a plan of action but this is difficult. We are not sure how many miles we will do a day in this terrain. We are hoping around 15 a day. We have heard there are days where 6 is all we will be able to do. We can't imagine that. We will soon find out.
