August 12 Mountain Meadows Lodge

A short hike today to the lodge and Matt's car. First thing we did is went to get our free gondola ride. Up to the peak of Mt Killington with clear skies. Gorgeous view. We notice a warning sign about 2 poisonous plant and something about temporary blindness. This gets our attention after hiking down the slope through the thick and high weeds yesterday.
King of the Hill was with us. We went to the lodge for showers and laundry. Had dinner and beer tasting at the Long Trail Brewery sitting next to a river. Our good fortune they doubled our beer order by accident so they offered it to us free of charge.

Upon our return to the lodge Bill the owner had the hot tub warmed up and a bucket of Long Trail Ale. We spent time looking up into the clear sky watching the Perseids Meteor shower. We saw about 10 shooting stars between the three of us. We devoured a box of Oreos before retiring for the evening.
