May 3. A LAKE!!!!!!!

Hiked to hwy 321 to find a cooler of cold pop and several bags of chips to begin our beach day. Lake Watauga was a welcome sight. We swam and enjoyed the sun. Just as we were cooking up one of our usual rice dishes, two trail angels showed up offering to take us to a excellent BBQ place a local favorite. Their good friend Jamie( angel no, 3) picked us up and off we went to Ridgewood BBQ for a platter of pig. Theresa, Jamie and Lisa are section hikers who intend to thru hike. We enjoyed meeting them and took their numbers just in case. Meeting wonderful people like today has added to our fun.
