What an amazing day, again! We started early from Lance Creek. Mile Marker 24.3 Hiked as a group over Blood mountain where there was an original shelter built in the early 30s. Incredible views! Highest elevation on the AT in GA. 4461 feet. Front here we hiked into Neels Gap. (31.7). Had the livery of a shower, an apple and some coke. Took a resupply from our friends and saw them off. They made the beginning of our journey the BEST. We relaxed at Neels gap until 4:30 and started out on our own.
Maine Man, Brandin (Proffesor), and many others stayed at the hostile in Neels Gap We hiked an additional 5 miles and only saw one new guy, rRandy. Our first 12 mile day It's as if we are alone out here. So strange after the last few nights of "tent city".
We made our own campsite here on Cowrock Mountain. We see city lights way off to the left and had a sunrise over layers of mountains. We even had our own fire. Life is good.
Can't wait to wake up on this ridge at sunrise. Will include some pictures from the day.

Keep up the posts. I am enjoying living vicariously through you.
